Bissera Valeva

She graduated from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, with a specialty in Mural Painting in the class of Prof. Mito Ganovsky. Since 1994 she has been an assistant professor in drawing and painting at Sofia University with a specialty Pedagogy of Arts. She is a lecturer in painting at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia in Graphics and in the Book's design. Since 2005 she is a PhD in a field of Pedagogy of Arts. Since 2013 she has been a Full Professor in drawing and composition at Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“.

She works mainly in the field of drawing and painting with special interest in working on paper. Member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists.

Artist in Residence – 2005 „Cite International Des Arts“ Paris, France; 2012 - „La Escosesa“, Barselona, Spain; 2015 - „Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus“ Schwandorf, Germany.

Her works are exhibited in art galleries in Bulgaria – National Gallery, few state's city galleries as well as in a private collections and state galleries in Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Germany, UK, Cyprus, Moldavia, USA, Canada, Spain, France, Greece, Montenegro and other countries.

2014 - Silver medal from the International exhibition in Moscow „Secrets of Life“, Russia

2013 - Nomination for painting from the annual exhibition of teachers of Artists in Bulgaria, Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

2012 - Nomination for painting from the exhibition „Message Through The Centuries” Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

2011 - Diploma for drawing from the Biennial of Drawing in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

2010 - Nomination for painting from the annual exhibition of Alliantz for Artists in Bulgaria

2005 - Diploma for painting from the exhibition of North-West Artists in Bulgaria

2001 - Award for painting „Nikola Kanov“, Lom, Bulgaria
