Brit Dyrnes, born in Trondheim, Norway, 1955.Educated from the Academy of Art in Trondheim, Norway and Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, Germany. Dyrnes has worked as an artist since 1979. From 1985 she has completed 35 decorative commisions to puclic buildings for the government. The significance of visual aestethic qualities in the public domain, which has been so prominent in the social debate of the nineties in Norway, has been a central theme in Dyrnes´ artistic intensions. The numerous projects in which she has been involved in recent years express both her conscious positioning and strong social engament in this theme. Brit Dyrnes also participated in the design and the artistic idea of Lærdals-tunell in Norway in cooperation with SINTEF and Statens Vegvesen, Sogn og Fjordane. And the Quinling Zhongnan tunnel in China.
